Information on personal data processing
Scholastika - higher vocational school of visual communication s.r.o. Římská 103/12 Praha 2 120 00, ID 24129801, IZO 181076748 (hereinafter referred to as “School”), as the personal data controller, hereby informs the legal representatives of the pupils (i.e. the legal representatives of the “data subject”) about the manner and scope of processing of personal data by the School, including the scope of the rights of the data subjects related to the processing of their personal data by the School.
The School processes personal and sensitive data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation; hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”) and in accordance with relevant national data protection legislation.
The School collects and processes personal data only in accordance with the stated purposes and to the extent and for the time necessary to fulfill those stated purposes.
Purpose and legal basis for the processing of personal data
- the provision and delivery of school and out-of-school education
The processing of personal data is necessary to comply with the School’s legal obligations (see Act No. 561/2004 Coll., the Education Act, § 28, paragraph 2, the School collects and processes the personal data of the data subject in the following scope - name and surname, birth number (rodné číslo), or date of birth if the birth number has not been assigned to the child, pupil or student, as well as nationality, place of birth and place of permanent residence, or place of residence in the Czech Republic according to the type of residence of the foreigner or place of residence abroad if the child, pupil or student does not reside in the Czech Republic. Furthermore, data on previous education, including the level of education attained, the field of study, form and duration of education, if it is a secondary or higher vocational school, the date of commencement of education at the school, data on the course and results of education at the school, the language of instruction, data on the disadvantages of the child, pupil or student, data on exceptional talents, data on the support measures provided to the child, pupil or student by the school and the conclusions of the examination referred to in the recommendation of the school counselling centre. The school shall also be entitled to process data on the medical fitness for education and on health problems that could affect the course of education, as well as the date of leaving school and, where appropriate, data on the examination by which education in secondary or higher vocational education was completed.
In addition to the pupil’s personal data, the school is also legally obligated to process the personal data of the pupil’s legal representative, including: the name and surname of the legal representative, the place of permanent residence or domicile, if the pupil does not have a permanent residence in the Czech Republic, and the address for delivery of documents, telephone number.
Presentation and promotion of the School, presentation of the results of students’ work
- consent to the processing of personal data
The school takes and processes the personal data of the data subject in the form of photographs, videos of pupils only on the basis of the consent granted for the processing of personal data.
The school handles pupils’ works (artistic and other) for the purpose of exhibitions, competitions and school presentations and informs about the results achieved, only on the basis of the consent granted for the processing of personal data.
This consent may be withdrawn by the data subject at any time, either in person or by written notice delivered via the contact details below.

Personal data may also be processed by the School’s personal data processors for the purposes described above, in addition to the School and its employees, on the basis of personal data processing agreements concluded in accordance with the GDPR.

The school informs that personal data may be transferred upon lawful request to third parties who have the legal authority to require the transfer of the personal data in question.
Rights of the data subject
The legal representative of the data subject (data subject) is entitled to request information as to whether or not personal data concerning him or her are processed by the School and, if so, has the right to obtain access to such personal data and to the following information: the purpose of the processing of personal data, the category of personal data concerned, the recipients or categories of recipients of personal data, the period for which the personal data will be kept, the sources of the personal data, whether or not automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place. The School shall provide the first copy of the personal data processed to the data subject free of charge. The School may charge a reasonable fee for further copies at the request of the data subject’s (data subject’s) legal representative, not exceeding the cost necessary to provide such information.
In addition, the legal representative of the data subject (data subject) has the right to obtain the personal data concerning him or her that he or she has provided to the School in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and the right to transmit such data to another controller, as well as the right to have the personal data transmitted directly from one controller to another controller, if technically feasible.
In the event that the legal representative of the data subject (data subject) believes that the School or the School’s contractual processor is processing personal data in violation of the protection of the private and personal life of the data subject or in violation of the law, in particular if the personal data are inaccurate with regard to the purpose of their processing, the data subject may request the School to correct or delete (“dispose of”) the personal data or to restrict (block) the processing. Furthermore, the data subject may object to such processing.
The School shall always inform the data subject of the processing of his/her request without undue delay and in any case within one month of receipt of the request.
The data subject has the right to address his or her complaint to the Office for Personal Data Protection, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Prague 7, at any time.
