Interior design course: From Space to Detail
Learn how to work with interior from space to detail with Kateřina and Petra from P1A.
We take our students through all the stages of interior design. We introduce them to the process at the beginning of which a completely clean space is defined (for example, for an apartment, shop, house or office) or, on the contrary, it may be a space that is already occupied and functioning, waiting for a complete transformation.
Gradually we go through phases where we work with floor plans, ergonomics of space suitably designed for the specific use of the building. We introduce students to a range of available building and decorative materials, explaining their advantages and appropriate forms of use.
We explain how light works in a space, both natural and artificial, and try out how a designer can transform an interior with it. We mention and explain the essential building standards, pointing out which ones to look out for and which ones to remember to incorporate into your design right from the start.
On excursions to various showrooms, we introduce students to the context of interior design. On the other hand, when visiting a building site, we show students the reality of the construction process.
Our aim is to give students the basic knowledge of an interior designer in a relatively short period of time, to introduce them to the context of their “everyday work” and, above all, we are interested in consulting each student’s individual designs, which we will constantly discuss and develop together.
